WESTERN CULTURAL WINDS ON NIGERIAN YOUTHS {NEW}

Culture is the totality of learning, socially transmitted characters, knowledge and behavior. It includes the  ideas, value, customs and artifacts of a group of people. 
Culture is a pattern of human activities, it deals whit both our weakness and our strength. Culture is all about what we enjoy, how we dress, beliefs we hold and activities we engage into. It is the totality of the way of life evolved by people in their attempts to meet the challenges of living in their environment, which gives order and meaning to their social, political, economic, and religious lives and modes of organisation. thus distinguishing people from their neighbours or people around them.


The information's we got, i think, they are wrong. We grabs these foreign culture as if we are naked and, desperately in need of dress.
Many a times we watch the TV and listen to the radio, read the news paper and buy magazines. Our mind are been transmitted and transformed into something else and we gradually becomes just like the things we watch on the cable or the status we glanced through the magazine. This external culture have really affected or deceived us to the extent that we sleep and wake up just to sleep again.
Civilization to me is corruption....absolute civilization corrupts absolutely.
Just like the breeze or a wild wind, they blows in both the wanted and the unwanted particles into our country...
The western culture flew in like a bat into our country and we generally grabbed it all and decided to leave it no more. 
Sometimes ago we were depressed by some white men who deceptively came in with their culture imperialism. they called us uncivilized and we accepted. Just like a white handkerchief, they taught us how to speak English, brought Christianity and we saw  them to be more better than we are. So we threw away our lifestyle, our heritage, and our culture just to follow after a piece of yam that drops from the western tables. forgetting that those yam were all harvested from our farmland.
They turned the labours and our sweat to their harbour and their wealth. Civilized we are now, i guess. For our culture and heritage are been taken away from us.
Most a times these culture pricks me a lot, 'cause they are useless enough for our youths. Lets look back now at 10-12 years ago...'What a Fufilment' we greet our elders and respect our parents, we dressed like humans with our hole body covered and not as sexy and empty leaving our whole body vivid in sight and mind. We lack violence and embrace peace and unity, we do the things taught us by our parents and we enjoyed the past pride and glory, BUT WHAT HAPPENED NOW? that all of a sudden we abused our own tasteful and remarkable culture in place of the Westerns.
We the youths don't understand the values of our culture, we don't even want to, so we see them as outdated and we detach our self from them 'cause our peers would laugh at us if we exhibit any our culture out there....ending with the speach that our culture has been, more or less soled or stolen away, we don't know.
